Naff Song Lyrics

Song: If.
Lyric: “If a man could be in two places at one time, I’d be with you tomorrow and today”.
Naffness: 10.
Reason: That’s two times and one place, not two places at one time!

Song: If Paradise (or whatever it’s called) - by Amen Corner.
Lyric: “If paradise is half as nice as heaven that you send me to, who needs paradise I’d rather have you”.
Naffness: 9.
Reason: Let’s just look at this one mathematically. If B is twice as nice as A, I’d rather have B. Er... yeah? So what?! You don’t have to be mastermind to figure that out, so why bother to write a song about it!?

Song: “Rooms” (Maybe?) - by Stevie Nicks
Lyric: “Well maybe I’m just thinking that the rooms are all on fire, every time that you walk in the room”.
Naffness: 7.
Reason: Having the word room twice in one sentence is not good! It just doesn’t sound right at all.

Song: “A spaceman came travelling” - by Chris De Burgh.
Lyric: “It was light years of time since his mission did start”.
Naffness: 10.
Reason: A light year is a measurement of distance not time! You obviously weren’t listening to your physics teacher, Chris! Go to the back of the class and put on the dunces cap!

Song: “Love me for a reason”.
Lyric: “Love me for a reason, let the reason be love”.
Naffness: 8
Reason: That seems a bit of a circular argument to me. Like saying I like chocolate because I like chocolate.

Song: “House of fun” - by Madness.
Lyric: “Try the house of fun, it’s quicker if you run”..
Naffness: 7
Reason: Well of course it would be quicker, that’s a bit obvious isn’t it? I assume they just wanted something to rhyme with fun, but couldn’t come up with anything better at the time. (Don't get me wrong, I really like Madness. It's just this lyric that grates somewhat).
